Who We Are

About EcoVision Sustainability Institute

Independent. Evidence-Based. Globally Engaged.

Our Story

From Ghana — to the World

EcoVision Sustainability Institute (ESI) was established in Nyanyano, Central Region, Ghana, in 2025 as an independent research and advisory institution dedicated to advancing sustainable development through rigorous economic analysis, evidence-based policy, and technical expertise.

Registered as a private limited company under Ghana's Companies Act 2019 (Registration No. CS220940925), ESI was founded with a clear mandate: to bridge the gap between academic research and actionable policy — delivering knowledge that governments, organisations, and communities can actually use.

Though headquartered in Ghana, ESI operates without geographic borders. Our research spans Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and global panels of over 180 countries. We publish in leading international journals, collaborate with scholars and policymakers across continents, and provide advisory services to clients who demand the highest standards of analytical rigour.

ESI is not just a consultancy. We are a research-led institution — committed to generating original knowledge, nurturing the next generation of sustainability professionals, and ensuring that the Global South has a strong, credible voice in global sustainability discourse.

Mission & Vision

The principles that guide everything we do.

Our Mission

To generate rigorous, evidence-based research and deliver expert advisory services that advance sustainable development, climate resilience, and environmental governance — across Africa, the Global South, and beyond.

Our Vision

To be a globally recognised centre of excellence in environmental economics, climate policy, and sustainability research — rooted in Africa, researching for the world.

Our Core Values

The principles that underpin our research, advisory, and institutional culture.

01

Rigour

We apply the highest standards of analytical and methodological precision to all our research and advisory work. Our outputs are evidence-based, peer-reviewed where applicable, and transparent in methodology.

02

Integrity

We operate with complete independence, transparency, and honesty. Our research findings and advisory recommendations are never influenced by political or commercial pressures.

03

Impact

We are not satisfied with research that sits on a shelf. We design our work to be usable, actionable, and transformative — for policymakers, practitioners, businesses, and communities.

04

Collaboration

We believe that the best solutions emerge from diverse perspectives. We actively seek partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, international organisations, and civil society.

05

Innovation

We embrace new ideas, methodologies, and technologies. ESI encourages creative thinking and is committed to remaining at the cutting edge of environmental economics and sustainability science.

06

Equity

We are committed to ensuring that the voices and interests of vulnerable and marginalised communities — particularly in the Global South — are central to sustainability research and policy.
